The two greatest batters in the history of Indian cricket, Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar, reunited ahead of the crucial 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) match between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

On the day of the game, Tendulkar and Kohli engaged in a light-hearted conversation during both teams' drill at the legendary location. While photos of the same went popular on social media, the iconic pair were spotted conversing and having a wonderful time together. Together, the two Indian legends have 175 centuries and 59679 international runs. Because he trails Master Blaster in the most hundreds chart across all formats, Kohli is often compared to Tendulkar. While Virat Kohli has 75 hundred, Sachin Tendulkar has exactly 100.

Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore will face off on May 9

Former franchise captains of their respective teams include Tendulkar and Kohli. Both players have been connected to RCB and MI since their respective teams' first campaigns in 2008. Tendulkar played for MI from 2008 to 2013, serving as the team's first-ever permanent captain. He has served as the team's mentor since the 2014 IPL campaign.

Virat Kohli is the only player to have participated in each of IPL's 16 seasons while representing the same team. Before the inaugural season, Kohli was acquired by RCB after being selected in the U-19 draft, and he has never once entered the auction pool.

Both Kohli and Tendulkar fondly recollect the Wankhede Stadium because they were part of the Indian team that won the 2011 ODI World Cup there. For a lap of honour around the stadium on the momentous night of April 2, 2011, Kohli carried Tendulkar. In a later statement, Kohli said, "Tendulkar has carried the weight of the country for 21 years; it was time we carried him."

Regarding tomorrow's game, MI and RCB have 10 points after 10 games and are firmly entrenched in a mid-table deadlock. Whoever prevails in the high-profile matchup will have the opportunity to move up to third place in the standings.
