India vice-captain KL Rahul’s performance has been India’s biggest concern for the team in recent times. In the second Test Rahul scored 17 and 1 in both innings as he wasted another opportunity. Despite Rahul’s dipping performance team management is showing trust in him. He has been preferred over inform Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav in the second Test. Questioning his selection former India player Venkatesh Prasad created a stir over social media.

Venkatesh has called it unfair and biased toward Rahul. He also said that Rahul’s selection is based on favouritism rather than performance. Prasad also bashed commentators and former players for not speaking on the issue. Now his hard questions unsettled Former India batter Aakash Chopra who asked Prasad to wait for the match to get over.

Chopra replied to Prasad on his tweet and said, "Venky Bhai, Test match chal raha hai. How about, at least, waiting for both innings to get over? All of us are on the same team i.e. Team India. Not asking you to hold back your thoughts but the timing could be a little better. After all, our game is all about the ‘timing.’” His response didn’t go well with the user who bashed Chopra for backing KL Rahul.

India retains Border-Gavaskar Trophy

Notably, Aakash Chopra on his YouTube channel also criticized the harsh words used by Prasad in between the game. He said, "As soon as KL Rahul gets dismissed cheaply, he starts to trend on Twitter. Everyone wants to give their opinion and criticize him and I feel Venkatesh Prasad's tweets have added fuel to the fire. Being a former cricketer himself, he should know that we shouldn't criticize our own players in the middle of the game when one inning is still remaining. After the game, you can definitely talk about any player and have your opinion."

Meanwhile, Team India in the second test beat Australia by six wickets to take an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. On the Day 3 of the game, Australian batters failed to score against the spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin and got out off 113 in the first session itself. Jadeja took 7 wickets in the second innings while Ashwin managed to clinch three wickets. Travis Head was the highest run scorer for Visitors as he scored 43 runs in the second innings.
