Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) are clashing against each other in the 22nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday, April 16 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. MI only 2 points with one win in 3 matches. To go up in the points table, it will be very important for the five-time champions to win the match.
However, before the match, MI suffered a major setback as their premium fast bowler Joffra Archer is ruled out of the match because he is not fully fit. In such a situation, the Mumbai team will have to fill his place once again. And fans witnessed a surprise, as it wasn’t expected that Arjun Tendulkar may get a chance in MI's playing 11.
Arjun was included in his team by the franchise in the auction this year for Rs 30 lakh. But like every time once again, he waited for his first chance. They first included Arjun in their team in the mega auction of IPL 2018 but didn't get a chance to play a single IPL match. In the last season, MI was constantly struggling with injuries and the exclusion of players. Still, Rohit Sharma did not give Arjun a single opportunity.
Will MI get their 2nd victory of the season?
Talking about Archer, he did not play in the last match as well and Riley Meredith was given a chance in his place. MI's big players are yet to shine as Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav and even Cameron Green hasn't produced anything special for the team so far in this tournament. Nevertheless, MI is known for their terrific comebacks in the cash-rich league and the fans are once again hoping for the same as the season has just started.
On the other hand, KKR have won matches out of 4 and the 3rd victory is still in the memories of many fans as their young left-handed batter Rinku Singh delivered a breathtaking match-winning performance by hitting consecutive sixes in the last over against Gujarat Titans and led the team to the victory.
Here's how fans reacted:
