Indian team's star fast bowler Mohammad Siraj reaches a landmark moment in his career and all-time high ODI rankings of number 1 in bowling on Wednesday. Siraj got a bumper benefit for his explosive performance in the ODI series against New Zealand. He has left behind New Zealand fast bowler Trent Boult and Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood. Siraj remains the no. 1 bowler with 729 points. While Hazlewood is at number two with 727 points.

Siraj made his ODI debut on 15 January 2019 against Australia in the Adelaide match. Siraj did not get wickets in that match, nor did he get a chance to play any ODI match for the next three years. Siraj played the second ODI of his career after three years on 6 February 2022.

After this opportunity, Siraj performed brilliantly and did not look back. Siraj has so far played a total of 21 ODIs for Team India, in which he has taken 38 wickets at an average of 20.73. Recently, Siraj played two out of three ODIs against New Zealand, in which he took 5 wickets. Just before this, he created headlines by taking 9 wickets in three ODIs against Sri Lanka.

Shubman Gill reached to sixth spot in the men's ODI rankings

There was plenty of movement at the top of the batter rankings following the completion of India's home series against the Kiwis as in-form Shubman Gill caught everyone’s eyes as the right-hander jumps a whopping 20 places to sixth overall and Indian captain Rohit Sharma also got the 9th spot in the ODI rankings for batters. Gill, scored a magnificent double-century in the first match against New Zealand while Rohit Sharma smashed a terrific hundred in the third match.

Apart from these two, there is Virat Kohli in the top 10, who has slipped a notch to reach number 7. Fellow India pacer Mohammed Shami has jumped 11 places to 32nd overall on the updated list for ODI bowlers. Meanwhile, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam still enjoys a healthy lead at the top of the ODI batter rankings, but there is now a total of three Indian players inside the top 10 and chasing the highest accolade.
