Ahead of the high-voltage India vs. Pakistan match in the ODI World Cup 2023, fans and cricket pundits are shocked to see ticket prices. As tickets are sold out on the official partner website, fans are trying to buy them from resellers or black marketers. In order to do so, the prices are increasing exponentially.

On a sports ticket seller website, Viagogo, a ticket for the South Premium East 3 section is listed at a whopping price of INR 21 lakhs. Meanwhile, an upper tyre ticket with a direct view is listed at an unbelievable price of INR 57 lakh. There are two tickets available for that section, and it should not surprise anyone if they sell out within a few hours. However, these unbelievable prices and the lack of availability of tickets have created buzz among fans.

Fans and some former cricketers have asked the Indian Cricket Board to release full information about the tickets. Fans are giving sharp reactions against the Indian Cricket Board and BookMyShow, i.e., the official ticket partner, for not caring about fans. Some are alleging that they released just 1% of tickets to increase demand and earn money through it.

Venkatesh Prasad demands an active response from the Indian Cricket Board.

Amid the ongoing debate over ticket prices, former India cricketer Venkatesh Prasad slams the Indian Cricket Board and its ticketing partner for the chaos. Prasad asks the board to not take fans for granted.

"It’s never been very easy to get World Cup tickets. But this time has been harder than before. It could have been better planned, and I feel for the fans who have had high hopes and struggled to get tickets. I sincerely hope one of the most important stakeholders, the fans, gets their worth, and I hope @BCCI makes it easier for the fans," he wrote on Twitter.

It's worth noting that India is currently participating in the Asia Cup 2023. They will face arch-rival Pakistan in Colombo on September 10. After that, the team will face Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the Super Four stage. Meanwhile, India will start their World Cup campaign against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8.
