India's star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is suffering from his back injury for a long time. To overcome this problem, he had recently got his back surgery done in New Zealand. After this surgery, it is said that Bumrah will stay away from cricket for at least 6 more months. However, the Indian cricket Board wants to get Bumrah back before the 2023 World Cup which is set to be held in India.

Meanwhile, it is reported that Bumrah’s injury status will be kept secret and only former Indian legendary batter and NCA chief VVS Laxman is reportedly aware of the specifics of the recovery process and the severity of the injury.

“Not many in the Indian Cricket Board are aware of his injury. Only VVS Laxman (NCA director) has been assigned to speak to him and the physios. Even the selection committee has been told that they will be informed about Bumrah’s actual injury and his rehab details in due course.” Reported by the Indian Express.

Bumrah is also likely to miss Test Championship final in June

This time the World Cup 2023 is going to be held in India. In such a situation, Team India wants to see the star fast bowler fit before the World Cup. Bumrah is the most successful bowler of Team India. He can become the key player in India's victory in the World Cup. Meanwhile, a source was stated by the Indian Express:

“His back is in a fragile state right now. Besides, last time Bumrah’s return was hastened. Since he hadn’t fully recovered, he had discomfort while bowling on his return. This time, we are more conservative as a wrong call might even result in a career-threatening injury.”

The Mumbai-based franchise in the forthcoming season of the Indian T20 League will also be missing his services. Mumbai are hoping to bounce back after a terrible tournament last year. The five-time Champions placed last in the points standings and were denied a spot in the event's playoffs. Mumbai fans will also miss the chance to watch the lethal partnership of Jasprit Bumrah and English bowler Jofra Archer.
