India's star batter KL Rahul is all set to play in the upcoming 16th edition of the Indian T20 League which will kick off on March 31. Rahul is suffering from a bad form in international cricket that too in all three formats. He recently lost his vice-captaincy from every format. However, his Indian T20 League record is tremendous.

Rahul will be leading the Lucknow-based franchise for the second time in the upcoming season. The right-hander led the team brilliantly last season as they were able to qualify for the playoffs but unfortunately lost the qualifier against Bangalore. Meanwhile, an image of Rahul is getting viral on social media in which he can be seen having chat with his Lucknow teammates in Ekana Stadium.

Meanwhile, Lucknow's fielding coach Jonty Rhodes recently talked about how the importance of fielding has increased over the last few years after the T20 cricket started. He said that earlier teams used to have only 2 or 3 fielders but now every team have all 10 good fielders as it is the basic requirement in modern-day cricket.

“We have seen its evolution since T20 cricket started. The importance of fielding has grown manifold, especially while defending boundaries and taking crucial catches. There were times when a team used to have only two-three good fielders, but now every team has 10 good fielders as this is its basic need,” Rhodes was quoted as saying by HindustanTimes.

Rhodes also defended Rahul, who has struggled due to his form slump. “He is a wonderful batter and a great captain who loves to lead from the front. We have no doubts about his ability as he had a wonderful season last year. One-day cricket is something different and Rahul has grown in his captaincy. His calmness at the ground is great, it is very important in T20 cricket.”

Talking about Lucknow's squad, the team is looking strong with the likes of Quinton de Kock, Rahul, Nicholas Pooran, Deepak Hooda and many more. However, de Kock is going to miss some matches in the initial phase of the league due to national duties.
