India skipper Rohit Sharma created history by scoring 30 consecutive double-digit scores in Test cricket during the 2nd innings of the 2nd Test against West Indies. The previous record for the same was held by Sri Lankan legend Mahela Jayawardene. Notably, in his furious innings, Rohit scored 57 runs off 44 balls with the help of five boundaries and three sixes. It was also Rohit's fastest half-century in Test cricket.

In the second innings, Rohit, along with his opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal, added 98 runs for the first wicket. The pair scored 50 runs in just 5.5 overs, making it the fastest by any Indian pair. Notably, Jaiswal, in his innings, scored 38 runs off 30 balls with the help of four fours and a six. Apart from them, Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan also batted amazingly, adding 79 runs for the third wicket.

Kishan scored his maiden Test half-century as he hammered unbeaten 52 runs off 34 balls with the help of four boundaries and two sixes. Meanwhile, Gill scored 29 runs off 37 balls with the help of a four. Both remained not out as India declared their innings for 181/2 in 34 overs. The hosts were asked to chase 365 runs in the fourth inning to win the game.

In response, the West Indies started well, as opener T. Chandrapaul and skipper Kreg Braithwaite added 38 runs for the first wicket. However, soon Ashwin became a nightmare for them. He dismissed Braithwaite for 28 runs off 52 balls, with the help of five boundaries. In his next over, Ashwin dismissed Krik McKnezie for a four-ball duck and pushed the Windies' run chase far back in the game.

Notably, if India wins this game, it will continue to lead the World Test Championship 2025 cycle with 100% points. Meanwhile, it's worth noting that the last time India lost a Test match against the West Indies was in 2001, and they would like to continue their dominance. India, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, will also look to get some points before their next Test series.
