Amid India's preparations for the Test Championship finals against Australia, star pacer Jasprit Bumrah is set to make his comeback after a successful back surgery. Bumrah, who is currently at National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, is set to return to the field in the coming days.
On Saturday, Bumrah posted a picture of his shoes in black and white and said, "Hello friends, we meet again." Notably, Bumrah underwent back surgery last March in New Zealand due to continued problems in their back. Since then, he is undergoing rehabilitation in NCA under the guidance of VVS Laxman and his team.
It's worth noting that Bumrah was declared fit for the Sri Lanka series back in December 2022. However, just a day before the game, he pulled off the series and later it was informed that the pacer is yet to recover from the back injury. For the last two years, Bumrah has been struggling with injuries and India would hope him to come back stronger in the 50-over World Cup.
"I am not Jasprit Bumrah", says Akash Madhwal on comparison with MI stalwart
Meanwhile, in the Indian Premier League 2023, Mumbai Indians struggled with poor bowling in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer. However, in the eliminator game against Lucknow Super Giants, Uttrakhand pacer Akash Madhwal went into beast mode. Madhwal, in his spell, just gave five runs and clinched five wickets in 3.3 overs. In the last three games for MI, Madhwal clinched 10 wickets including a 4-fer against SRH and a 5-fer against LSG.
Speaking about his performance and comparison with Jasprit Bumrah, Madhwal said that he is not Bumrah. "I am trying my best to fulfil the responsibilities given to me by the team. I am not Bumrah's replacement but I'm trying my best to do what I can," Madhwal told reporters after the eliminator game against LSG.
Here is how fans react to Jasprit Bumrah's latest post:

no need of ICT and getting injured again!
We don’t need him. We have Siraj, Shami and Arshdeep at the moment and must give chance to Aakash Madhwal, Umran, Tushar etc.
