Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was getting medical help in the dressing room after he was dismissed on 10 in the final match of the series. The left-hander’s place in the squad was already under question because of his recent form in the white-ball format. Pant is part of the upcoming Bangladesh tour and now his spot will be in doubt if the injury is serious.

The 25-year-old had a hard run in the shortest format this year, but his ODI number are better than T20Is. However, he failed to be consistent. Pant scored two fifties and one century in the nine innings he has played this year. He continues to polarize opinions, his indifferent form in white-ball cricket has come under much scrutiny and frustrating at times considering he has been a delight in Tests.

Many former cricketers have suggested him to take a break from international cricket and try to reinvent himself as he is not able to utilize the chances he’s getting currently.

Will the Bangladesh series be Pant’s final opportunity?

The Indian Cricket team are scheduled to tour Bangladesh to play two Test matches and three ODIs in December 2022. India would take on the Bangla Tigers in the 1st ODI match of the India Tour of Bangladesh 2022. The match will be played at Mirpur.

The most recent meeting between these sides came in the quarterfinals of the 20-20 World Cup 2022, which India went on to win after the Shakib Al Hasan-led team started off well with the ball and had the Men in Blue in a major spot of anxiety. Indian bowlers made a tremendous comeback which helped India to win the match.
