Indian left-arm fast bowler Yash Dayal had a forgettable season in the recently-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 with Gujaray Titans (GT). He was only able to pick up 2 wickets in 5 matches at an embarrassing economy rate of 11.79. He was also involved in a historical match between GT and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in which Rinku Singh smashed Dayal for 5 sixes in the final over of the match.

Meanwhile, Dayal’s problem has increased again as he allegedly shared a communal post on his Instagram story after which the screenshots of the story are getting viral on social media. Since the story has been removed, the screenshots' veracity cannot be verified. Fans are angry with Dayal for uploading such a contentious post in the meantime. Later, Dayal apologised for his mistake and wrote another piece, explaining that the story was posted accidentally.

'Guys apologies for the story, it was just posted by mistake. plz, don't spread hate. Thank you. I have respect for each & every community n society.' he wrote on his Instagram story.

Yash Dayal's Struggle in IPL 2023

Dayal was very demotivated after he was smashed for 31 runs in a single over against KKR. He was given the responsibility to defend 28 runs in the final over but Rinku had different things in his mind and smashed 5 back-to-back sixes against him. GT skipper Hardik Pandya later revealed that Dayal lost 7-8 Kgs of weight and also fell ill after that match. However, he was back in the playing XI in the final stages of the tournament but couldn’t perform well

"I can't confirm that (on his chances of Yash Dayal playing again this season). He fell ill and lost 7-8 kilos after that match. There was a spread of viral infection during that period and also due to the pressure he had faced, his condition is presently not good enough to take the field. Someone's loss is someone's gain at the end of the day. It is going to take a long time before we see him on the field," Hardik said.
