According to Hindu mythology, Ganeshji is the god of good fortune, wisdom, and prosperity. Ganesh Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chavithi is one of the most famous Hindu festivals in the country. Lord Vinayaka is known as the giver of wealth and the one who can help avert natural disasters. Lord Vinayaka is depicted with an elephant head on a human body.

The auspicious event of Ganesh Chaturthi has started not only in India but Worldwide. Everywhere in the world welcomed Bhagwan Ganesh into their homes as the holy occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. While people are busy celebrating the function with their near and dear ones, the cricket fraternity also will welcome 'Bappa' and has put the festive mode on.

Here's how cricketers celebrated the auspicious festival last year

This festival celebrates Lord Ganesh as the God of New Beginnings and the Remover of Obstacles as well as the god of wisdom and intelligence. In India, it is celebrated with people making beautiful designs and decor putting Lord Ganesh in their houses.

In the ten-day festival, in previous years Indian cricketers shared wonderful messages and posts wishing Ganesh Chaturthi to friends and family. Dinesh Karthik shared a picture of god playing cricket and wrote, "A festival that brings a whole new level of energy and happiness. Wishing a happy and cheerful Ganesh Chaturthi to everyone. May this festival bring many more smiles and celebrations. Wish you all a happy Vinayak Chaturthi."

Former cricketers Virender Sehwag, Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh too shared their wishes. The former India opener stated, "Wish you a very happy #GaneshChaturthi. Ganpati Bappa Morya … Mangal Murti Morya…" David Warner shared a picture and tweeted, "To all of my friends out there, HAPPY Ganesh Chaturthi. Wishing you lots of joy an happiness!"

India women's team opener Smriti Mandhana tweeted, "Wishing you and your family a Happy Ganesh Chaturthi. May Lord Ganesha shower happiness and prosperity on you. Ganpati Bappa Morya!"Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Yuzvendra Chahal also greeted everyone in an unique way."

This year also the cricketers will celebrate the festival in a grand festive way.
