Senior India pacer Ishant Sharma is currently out of the Indian national team. He has been doing commentary in the ongoing Test series between West Indies and India. During the second Test match, Ishant was joined by ace India pacer Zaheer Khan in the commentary box. During their discussion, fans were delighted to find some serious similarities in their bowling stats.

According to Jio Cinema, Zaheer and Ishant have both taken 311 wickets in their Test careers, which includes 11 five-wicket hauls and one ten-wicket haul. To add on, both the pacers have taken 104 out of 311 wickets in India and the remaining 207 outside the country. This amazing similarity left fans split on social media.

It's worth noting that Ishant Sharma has been one of the biggest fans of Zaheer Khan. He has always praised his bowling abilities and work ethic. In a recent interview, Ishant compared Zaheer with England pacer James Anderson and said that Zaheer is better than Anderson because of his bowling skills.

Ishant Sharma speaks about Rishabh Pant's injury

Recently, while speaking about Rishabh Pant's comeback, Ishant Sharma didn't look too optimistic about it. Ishant feels that Pant might miss next year's IPL too to fully recover from the injuries. He said, "I feel we might not see Rishabh Pant in the next IPL as well because it is not a small injury," Ishant Sharma told Jiocinemas on Saturday. "It was a very serious accident. He has just started batting and wicketkeeping, and to run and turn after that, there are a lot of things that are not easy for a wicketkeeper and a batter", he further added.

"The good thing is that he didn’t have a second surgery. If he had undergone a second surgery, he would have been out for even longer. He has had one surgery now, but I don’t think he will be fit for the World Cup for sure. Hopefully, if he gets fit for the IPL, it will be great," Ishant concluded. Notably, in the Indian Premier League, Ishant plays under the leadership of Rishabh Pant.
