Ahead of the all-important FIFA World Cup 2022, there’s some massive concern among English supporters regarding Harry Kane’s fitness. His Spurs gaffer Antonio Conte too is worried as the player apparently is ‘very tired’ and was unable to train properly ahead of Tottenham’s match against Nottingham Forest. Despite the fact, the coach was bound to play the striker for 60-minutes but he couldn’t help the team in any form or manner.

Sharing an update on the 29-year-old, Conte revealed that the player had a soft training session as he is too tired for a full training session. The England skipper played almost every minute in the Premier League and needs some time off to recover ahead of the marquee event.

“He was really, really tired. Yesterday we had a soft training session, really soft and at one point he stopped himself to recover energy. I repeat he's okay, it's only fatigue, but it is normal because Harry played every game. When you have a player like him it is difficult to decide not to play with him,” said Conte while talking to the press.

It is the same for Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Perisic and Dier: Conte

With the World Cup happening in the middle of a domestic season, the chances of players getting injured are way more than that of a normal season. Spurs boss Conte revealed that it’s not just Harry Kane but players like Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Perirc and Dier too are tired ahead of the FIFA World Cup.

“Not only him (Harry Kane), it is the same for (Pierre-Emile) Hojbjerg, (Rodrigo) Bentancur, (Ivan) Perisic, (Eric) Dier. We faced a bad situation about the injuries and we arrive at the end in difficulty. Now we have to try to rest and recover energy,” Conte added.

In the meantime, the London-based club will face Leeds United in the Premier League and all these mentioned players are likely to feature in the squad as Spurs do not have a very strong reserve bench.
