'Ash anna masti nahi' - Fans react as Ravichandran Ashwin warns Shikhar Dhawan to run out him at bowling end

Shikhar Dhawan led-Punjab Kings faced Rajasthan Royals in the eighth game of the Indian Premier League 2023 in Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. On Wednesday night, Punjab skipper Dhawan put up a terrific batting performance as he scored 86 runs off 56 balls. However, there was a moment when Rajasthan spinner Ravichandran Ashwin could have dismissed him but he missed the chance.

It was the seventh over of Punjab’s innings when young Prabhsimran Singh was hammering Rajasthan bowlers. In search of a breakthrough, Sanju Samson called Ashwin to bowl. The ace spinner on the 4th ball of the over warned Dhawan to be in his line at the non-striker end. Ashwin had the full opportunity to dismiss Dhawan though he missed the chance.

Notably, this missed opportunity cost Rajasthan as Dhawan hammered a spectacular half-century as he scored 86 runs off 56 balls, with the help of nine boundaries and three sixes. Apart from Dhawan, young Prabhsimran Singh also smashed a brilliant half-century. Prabhsimran, in his innings, scored 60 runs off 34 balls with the help of three sixes and seven boundaries. With these amazing innings, Punjab Kings posted a mammoth total of 197 runs in 20 overs.

Jason Holder shined with the bowl for Rajasthan 

In the run-fest at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, West Indies superstar, Jason Holder bowled exceptionally for the Royals as he clinched two important wickets. Holder dismissed Prabhsimran Singh and Shahrukh Khan to get the Royals back in the game. Meanwhile, to win their second consecutive game in the tournament, the Royals will need to score 198 runs in 20 overs.

The royals need a good start to continue their winning note at their second home in Guwahati, where they are going to play their first two home games. Sanju Samson and the company will want to continue their dominance over the Kings. Meanwhile, fans react to Ravichandran Ashwin’s Mankad attempt. A Twitter user said, “Out kar dena chahiye tha.”
