Indian cricket team skipper Rohit Sharma is currently in action in the ongoing 16th edition of the Indian Premier League. He is leading the five-time champions, Mumbai Indians for the 11th time in his career. However, in the three matches, they have suffered two losses in the tournament so far. But the third match finally brought a win for them against Delhi Capitals.

Meanwhile, Rohit was recently seen giving an autograph to a disabled fan named Dharamveer Pal ahead of their clash against Kolkata Knight Riders which is set to be played on April 16 at their home ground, Wankhede Stadium. It won’t be easy for MI to beat KKR as the two-time champions registered magnificent two victories in the three matches they’ve played in the season so far.

The first win is always special: Rohit Sharma

Talking about MI's clash against DC, the David Warner-led side gave a target of 172 runs to MI, Chasing the target, Rohit and Ishan Kishan got Mumbai Indians off to an excellent start, and although they lost some wickets in a cluster during the run chase, the efforts from their top three made sure to take them over the line. Tim David and Cameron Green were calm and composed and led the team to the win on the last ball by 6 wickets. Rohit talked about their first win of the season in the post-match presentation as well.

“We have been working hard from the first game. We had a camp in Mumbai, and getting the result (in our favour) feels good. The first win is always special. We played a Test match here recently, the pitch looked different. Getting a slow bowler was important on this pitch. The spinners kept us in the game.

"We needed to bat well to chase the total. I thought everyone put their hand up. We had to make it count for the team. I needed to make use of the powerplay, I knew we had to keep attacking and take our chances. I tried to create a partnership and had good communication with Tilak. It was important for us to have a good partnership” Rohit said.
