Team India bowler Jasprit Bumrah and his wife Sanjana Ganesan have been blessed with a baby boy. Earlier on Sunday, the 29-year-old initially did not reveal the reason behind his sudden departure. But on Monday, Bumrah took to his social media handle to announce this news to the fans.

The Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer was in Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup, and he has returned to Mumbai for the birth of his child the pacer will not be available for the clash against Nepal on Monday in Kandy. The first match of India vs Pakistan was washed out due to rain.

Our little family has grown & our hearts are fuller: Jasprit Bumrah

He posted a heartwarming message on his Instagram handle stating, "Our little family has grown & our hearts are fuller than we could ever imagine! This morning we welcomed our little boy, Angad Jasprit Bumrah into the world. We are over the moon and cannot wait for everything this new chapter of our lives brings with it."

The Ahmedabad-born pacer was out of action for quite a long time. He made a comeback to international cricket after nearly a year-long break due to a back injury. He looked in fine form against Ireland in a T20I series, there he picked up 4 wickets in 2 innings as India won the series 2-0 and was immediately drafted into the Indian team for the Asia Cup.

Veteran pacer Shami is expected to replace Bumrah in India's playing XI. Bumrah is likely to join the team ahead of India's Super Four game on Sunday. Notably, India will have to secure a win against Nepal to make it to the next round but rain is likely to play spoilsport again. So if the match gets washed out again then India will qualify for the Super 4s.

The Men in Blue's batting was tested in the match against Pakistan as their top order failed to have an impact. However, Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya put their innings back on track with a 138-run partnership that eventually helped them to score 266.
