Barcelona fans might face disappointment as Lionel Messi reportedly set to join Saudi Arabia club

Legendary Argentine footballer Lionel Messi has made up his mind to leave Paris Saint-Germain (PDG) at the end of this month, but he hasn't decided where he will play next. Saudi Arabia has offered him a salary of €500 million (£435 million/$541 million), but his former Spanish club FC Barcelona is also eager to bring him back on a magnificent contract that would force them to adjust their financial situation.

Barcelona had provided La Liga with some reports and was awaiting their approval before moving forward with Messi. However, the team has not yet heard from La Liga, and it appears that Messi's final destination may be somewhere else. In August 2022, Messi quit his childhood club after it was unable to comply with La Liga's financial regulations.

Meanwhile, Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez recently said that the doors are open for Messi in Barcelona but the decision is all upon him. Xavi believes that Messi can end up his football career on a high note only at Barcelona and he is sure that Messi will definitely look forward to joining them. 

“No, I see it the same as I always have. I have already said many times, he has the doors open to him here, I am the coach and I know that he will help us if he decides to come, but in the end, I think we have to leave him a little alone. He (Messi) is finishing the season there, he has a lot of respect for Paris Saint-Germain, he wants to finish in the best way, his contract ends and then he has earned all the right in the world to say where to go, where to end his career.” Xavi was quoted as saying by Asianet Newsable.

“I think that he has football to continue at a high level and that if he comes to Barca, which most or all of the Catalans want, especially the coach, the doors are open, I am convinced that it will go well," Xavi added.
