Australia faced defeat in the first two matches of the four-match Test series against India. The third match of the series will be played in Indore on March 1. Meanwhile, ahead of the third Test, Australian captain Pat Cummins has returned to Australia. According to reports, he has returned home due to a serious health issue in his family. However, it is reported that he can come back to India before the third Test.

Cummins going to Australia can be a big blow for the team. However, official information has not been given from their side yet. Australia had to face defeat in Nagpur before failing again in Delhi. The Australian media has also criticized the team a lot for their losses.

According to the report, Cummins will stay in Sydney for three-four days. After this, he can come back to India before March 1. If we talk about Cummins' individual performance against India, he has not been really effective in the series yet. He scored 6 runs in the first innings of the Nagpur Test and only 1 run in the second innings. Although, he took 2 wickets in the match.

Coming to the 2nd Test, he scored 33 runs in the first innings but couldn’t score a single run in the second innings. He took only one wicket in the match. The fourth match of the series will be played in Ahmedabad from March 9. After the Test series, a three-match ODI series will also be played which will start on March 17.

Unfortunately, quite a few of us got out with kind of cross-batted shots: Pat Cummins

After a disastrous loss in the 2nd Test against India, the Kangaroo skipper talked about the match in a post-match conference and said that Indian bowlers bowled really well but Australian batters made some mistakes as every batter was seen playing the sweep or reverse-sweep shot and ended up losing their wickets.

"I thought they bowled really well, it's not easy out there, but perhaps some guys went away from their methods. Each batter has their own way to go about it. I don't think there's any one-size-fits-all rule. Unfortunately, quite a few of us got out with kind of cross-batted shots which might not be our preferred method," Cummins told reporters after Australia's six-wicket defeat to India in the 2nd Test.
