Virat Kohli made a big statement with the bat in the Indian Premier League 2023, putting together a solid run. The right-handed batter scored 639 runs in 14 innings at a brilliant average of 53.25. He also had two centuries and six fifties to his name this year. However, he could not get Royal Challengers Bangalore through to the playoffs.

In the meantime, the 34-year-old attended an event organised by Puma along with his wife Anushka Sharma. The two shared a great moment on stage and had a blast. Anushka even imitated her husband's aggressive on-field celebration, which left the cricketer embarrassed.

"Sometimes the bowler is not celebrating as much as Virat is," Anushka said, sending everyone into a laughter riot. "Dekho ye sab cheese hoti hai moment me. Ye baar baar chalake aisa mat kara karo. Meko badi sharam aati hai baad me," Virat responded. A video of the same has gone viral on the internet.

Regarding sledging, while Virat was batting, Anushka took on the role of wicketkeeping. She jokingly urged Virat to score some runs, considering that he had a streak of bad performances on the 23rd of April when playing for RCB. This playful banter drove fans wild. In the match between RCB and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on the 23rd of April 2023, Virat, unfortunately, scored zero runs. Consequently, he established a peculiar record of achieving three consecutive golden ducks on the same date whenever RCB played in the IPL.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with Sports Tak, Sunil Gavaskar, a former Team India batter, stated: “Virat (Kohli) would definitely be in my T20I team on current form for India’s upcoming matches in the format. He has scored two hundreds (in IPL 2023). Hitting two hundreds in T20 cricket, even scoring 50 is difficult. This great batter has notched up two hundreds. If I was a selector and India were playing a T20 in June this year, I would, without doubt, pick him in the squad.”
