As the Indian batting maestro reached his sixth century in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history, Virat Kohli looked back to his fiery best. Kohli's match-winning innings from Thursday marked his first century in the league in almost four years. Kohli was playing at a different level when he scored this significant run against SRH in a match that had to be won to go to the playoffs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) scored a whopping 186 within their 20 overs thanks to Heinrich Klaasen's superb 104-ball innings. The RCB hitters were under pressure to demonstrate their prowess and lead the team over in the chase. As Virat Kohli as well as Faf du Plessis soon reached their top speed, the second innings saw more scoring.

Together, the two produced a strong opening stand of 172 runs. Kohli regained his form with a blazing 100 off 63 balls that featured 12 fours and 4 sixes. Du Plessis scored 71 runs, comprising seven fours plus two sixes, off just 46 deliveries.

Attacks on the SRH bowling staff never stopped throughout the second innings. They let themselves down while generating runs for their side despite the difficult pitch. Kohli played some excellent cricket, but he was unable to take the game ahead as quickly as he would have liked. Maxwell along with Bracewell made sure they easily crossed the finish line in a crucial game for their squad.

With RCB's eight-wicket victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad last night, the Indian Premier League playoff race has become more competitive. Bangalore and Mumbai Indians now have 14 points after 13 games. The Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, as well as Punjab Kings all have 12 points, so even if their chances of qualifying for the playoffs seem slim, they still have a chance.

Just like the whole world praised King Kohli for his excellent knock against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Lucknow Super Giants also didn’t hold themselves back from praising the Indian batting icon as they took to twitter to applaud Kohli’s sixth hundred in the history of the Indian Premier League. They posted on twitter along with the caption, “Virat Kohli at his best. 🤌💯”
