The former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones will be making his return after almost 3 years into the UFC octagon on Sunday, March 5 at UFC 285 against Ciryl Gane in the heavyweight championship match. This will also be Jones’ debut in the heavyweight division. Jones attended the pre-fight media on March 2 and talked about the upcoming fight.

Popularly known as ‘Bones’, the former champion was asked about the odds which are not in favour of him. He said that it is not disappointing or disrespectful as Gane has been a really great fighter on the roster. He said that there are a lot of fans who have never seen him fight before. However, he also mentioned that betting on him isn’t bad.

"No, I don't think it was disrespectful. Ciryl Gane's been really active. He's been really busy in the UFC. I understand that there's a lot of fans that have never seen me compete before and it is what it is. I would imagine a lot of people were putting in some pretty big money when I was the underdog and the oddsmakers had to change that up real quick. I'm not a big guy into gambling, but I would say betting on me isn't the worst idea.”

I don't know if his energy matches mine: Jon Jones

Jones talked about himself and how serious he is about the heavyweight division, he said that losing isn’t an option for him because this is his life. Jones is looking very confident about this victory because he believes that Gane can’t match his furious energy inside the octagon.

"I have a dog in me, I have a lion in me, I have a vicious warrior inside of me. It's who I am and losing is not an option. It's not just a sporting event to me, this is my life, this is my image, this is my legacy, this is me. My reasons why are really big. I don't know if his energy matches mine when it comes to the seriousness of how I take this fight and this game.”
