After four weeks of hard and courageous fighting, Gladiators Esports won the Battleground Mobile India Masters Series season 2. With the narrowest margin of 1 point, Gladiators beat Orangutan Esports to become the champions. After the grand success of season 1, BGMS Season 2 was organised by Star Sports on August 4.
Gladiators Esports won INR 1 crore as prize money. They were closely followed by Orangutan Esports, who finished second with 149 points. They clinched INR 35 lakh as prize money, while Velocity Gaming won INR 12.5 lakh for finishing third in the points table. Velocity scored 137 points in 12 matches and joined the top two teams to complete the podium.
The Gladiator esports victory was achieved by the squad consisting of 'destro_jodd' (Ammar Khan), ShogunFTW, 'gdr_justin' (Justin Nadar), and 'delta_pg' (Parth Garg). Among them, Justin Nadar earned the title of the tournament's Most Valuable Player, securing a prize money of INR 1.2 lakh. Notably, he performed amazingly with his aggressive and clutch gameplay and has supported his team with great performances.
How have other teams performed at BGMS?
Commencing on August 4, BGMS Season 2 spanned until August 27, featuring six competition phases. The event commenced with the opening weekend and progressed through multiple playoffs and super weekends, ultimately culminating in the Grand Finals. After Gladiators, Orangutan, Velocity Global Esports, and Team iNSANE Esports joined them in the top 5.
Global Esports scored 128 points, while iNSANE Esports scored 126 points to stay in the top 5. Apart from Medal Esports, Team X Spark also scored in triple digits. They finished sixth and seventh with 111 and 107 points, respectively. Team God Reign were eliminated in eighth place with 94 points, while Team Blind Esports and Team 8bit also got eliminated with 90 and 89 points, respectively.
