The World Cup is just less than a week away and the teams have already arrived in India ahead of the mega event. India is in sensational form as they won the Asia Cup 2023 and won the three-ODI series against the mighty Australians. With the World Cup in home conditions, the two-time World Champions will love to win cricket's most prestigious trophy third time.

India recently achieved a milestone feat as they became the first Asian team to be the No.1 side in all formats simultaneously. The Rohit-Sharma-led squad has announced their final squad for the mega event with only one change injured Axar Patel has been replaced by veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal did not find a place in the ODI World Cup squad. He has been India's one of the finest spinners of this generation. But in recent times he has been ignored by the Men in Blue side. In the 2021 T20 World Cup, he was not picked and in 2022 he did not get a chance to play after getting selected.

I understand that only fifteen players can be a part: Yuzvendra Chahal

Chahal said, "I understand that only fifteen players can be a part, because it’s a World Cup, where you can’t take 17 or 18. I do feel a little bad, but my motto in life is to move on. I’m used to it now… it’s been three World Cups (laughs)."

The former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) spinner further added, "That’s why I came here to play because I want to play cricket somewhere, somehow. I’m getting a chance here with a red ball, and I seriously want to play red ball for India. So it was a good experience for me."

In the ODI format, he has picked 121 wickets, the third-most by an Indian bowler. The wrist-spinner also opened up on losing the World Cup spot to Kuldeep and Ashwin, "I don’t think too much in that sense
