Adelaide Strikers broke their four-match losing streak in the 30th match of Big Bash League 2023 on Thursday, January 5. Strikers clashed with Hobart Hurricanes at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide and the fans witnessed a proper run-fest by both teams.
However in the 17th over, Strikers’ batter Adam Hose (20*) was caught by a brilliant catch from Tim David off the bowling of Faheem Ashraf, but it was called back for a waste high no-ball and the Strikers star smashed a six off the free hit in a huge play. Hose then blasted 38 from 22 balls, including one four and four sixes, before he was trapped lbw by Tim David.

Run-fest at Adelaide Oval
Talking about the match, Strikers opted to bowl after winning the toss. However, their decision backfired as Hurricanes started aggressively and added 88 runs before the first wicket fell. Later Zak Crawley and Tim David helped the team to make 4-229 from their 20 overs.
England Bazball star Crawley smashed five fours and three sixes in his 54 off 28 balls in his Hurricanes debut. Australian star Tim David blasted two fours and three sixes in his 39 from just 20 balls to lead the Hurricanes to their highest-ever score. Strikers’ bowlers were clueless except Rashid Khan who was economical but went wicketless.
Chasing the target, Stand-in skipper Matthew Short's unbeaten century and his big stand with Chris Lynn was what set up the hosts in this mammoth chase. Lynn peeled off another consistent contribution while Short seemed a tad slow to start off with but once he did get going, he brought the house down with his strokeplay. He was dropped twice too, and Hurricanes have paid a heavy price for those misses. Hose too chipped in with a handy cameo but really, it was all about Short and Lynn to a large extent in this chase. Apart from Dooley, none of the Hurricanes' bowlers managed to keep a lid on the scoring.

If he is standing upright at the popping crease as the rule says, it's not too high. Disgraceful call.

Rubbish decision…the ball was heading down and would have been below waist height in the normal batting stance…🤷♂️
