Former legendary Indian captain MS Dhoni led the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to the 5th Indian Premier League (IPL) title in the recently-concluded 16th edition of the league. Dhoni himself looked in great touch throughout the tournament where he produced some great cameos. He also injured his knee during the league but did not miss a single match.

However, it looked like Dhoni would announce his retirement after the final but that didn’t happen and the 41-year-old himself confirmed that he will be working on his fitness to play another season. Meanwhile, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has appreciated Dhoni for his commitment and devotion to the sports despite being injured. Dhoni was seen limping multiple times while running between the wickets after which he decided to come a little more down the order to just smash the balls in the death overs.

"Actually, he told us immediately after the final is over, he'll fly to Mumbai, have surgery, and go back to Ranchi for rehab. In Mumbai, after Ruturaj's wedding , I visited him. It was a courtesy call. He's quite comfortable. He said he'll rest for three weeks and then start his rehab. And as he said, he's not going to play until January-February. We don't need to remind him about all that," Viswanathan was quoted as saying by News 18.

It's been this way since 2008: Kasi Viswanathan

Viswanathan said that Dhoni knows what to do so they are not going to ask him about anything. He said Dhoni will inform N Srinivasan about his decision as he is very straightforward with him.

"He knows what to do, how to go about it, so we aren't going to ask him 'what are you going to do, how' etc. He will inform us on his own. Whatever he's doing, he'll call first and inform only Mr N Srinivasan, not anyone else. Factually, he'll be straightforward with him. From him, we'll get the information that this is what he's doing. It's been this way since 2008. That's how it will continue," Kasi Viswanathan said.
