New stumps introduced in BBL

The 13th edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) is currently underway. The teams have been performing excellently showing their best skills and abilities for the franchises. The fans are getting to see some low scoring thrilling matches and have experienced some high scoring encounters as well. Brisbane Heat (HEA) is currently in the top of the table with 7 points. Something very interesting has been introduced in this season's BBL. Cricket Australia is known to be the pathbreakers when it comes to introducing new things in cricket.

They have introduced ‘Electra’ stumps, known for their color-flashing spectacle. They indicate different decisions such as a no-ball, a wicket, a boundary, or signalling the time out between overs. They not only amaze with the dynamic visuals but also addresses a critical game issue. They do away with the necessity for the heavier magnet-driven "Zinger bails," preventing situations in which the bails are unable to come loose when struck.

This introduction guarantees a more dependable and seamless cricketing experience. The Electra Stumps were used in the Women's Big Bash Legaue (WBBL). Although, they were used for the first time in BBL match between Sydney Sixers and Adelaide Strikers.

New stumps introduced

Speaking of the introduction of these stumps, former Australia batter Mark Waugh said that these stumps are a christmas gift to the fans and cricketers. The colour sequence of the wickets are

  1. Out: The stumps will flash in a vibrant red before igniting in a burst of color.
  2. Boundary (four): A dynamic color shift, where all colors flash in an alternate pattern.
  3. Six: An upward motion of all colors, creating a visually striking display.
  4. No-ball: Red and white lights smoothly scroll along the length of the stumps.
  5. Between overs: A pulsating effect alternating between purple and blue scrolls, signaling the interval between overs.

In the 11th match of the BBL Sydney Sixers won the game by one runs against the Adelaide Strikers. They now have won all their three matches and are just one point away from the top position.
