The left-arm medium-fast bowler is set to join the Saurashtra team for the finals of the Ranji Trophy 2022-23. He will lead the team in the finals against Bengal which will take place at Eden Gardens, Kolkata from February 16. The former India U19 player made his Test return during India’s tour of Bangladesh last year and was part of India’s ongoing Test series. India has the likes of Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Umesh Yadav in the pace attack. Although only two of them will be playing as India is going with three spinners in the series.

Notably, Saurashtra has qualified for the finals of the Ranji Trophy for the third time in the last four years. The Arpit Vasavada-led side defeated Karnataka by four wickets in the semi-finals on February 12. On the other hand, Bengal easily overcame defending champions Madhya Pradesh in the second semis.

India Beat Australia in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy

India beat Australia by innings and 132 runs in the first Test in Nagpur. The home team skipper Rohit Sharma smashed his ninth Test century as he scored 120 runs. He along with allrounder Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Axar Patel led the side to a triumphing victory.

Rohit and co. will be looking to take an unassailable lead of 2-0 by winning the second Test of the series. After all, a series victory by two match margins will help the 2021 Test Championship to confirm their berth for the Finals of the Test Championship 2023. The finale of this cycle of the Test Championship will be played at The Oval Cricket Ground, London from June 7.
