This year, the ODI World Cup 2023 will be held in India, and all of the participating teams are currently working on preparations. The competition will begin on October 5 and last through November 19. The eagerly anticipated and thrilling match between India and Pakistan will, however, take place at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on October 15.

Meanwhile, ahead of the match, former player of the Pakistan cricket team Saeed Ajmal has given a controversial statement. He recalled a moment from the India-Pakistan match in the World Cup 2011. Ajmal claimed that former legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar was LBW on the ball he bowled to him in the semi-finals of the 2011 World Cup. However, India took the review at that time and Tendulkar was saved as the ball was missing the stumps.

"I don't know how the television replays showed my delivery turning towards the leg side because I had bowled an arm ball and it went straight," Ajmal was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times after reaching Lahore following the loss in the semis.

"We played in the 2011 World Cup, you must remember the incident with Sachin Tendulkar. The LBW decision was overturned. The controversy about it is still going on. It was out. Both, the umpire and I knew it was out. They had cut two frames to make it look like the ball missed the stumps. Otherwise, it would've hit the stumps in the middle,” Ajmal said on the Nadir Ali Podcast.

Dhoni scored only 18-20 runs and dropped catches: Saeed Ajmal

Ajmal also discussed the 2012 One-Day International (ODI) series between India and Pakistan. He believes MS Dhoni did not deserve to win the Player of the Match in the third ODI between India and Pakistan in December 2012. Ajmal implied that he should have won the award after cheaply skittling India out of the third ODI of the series.

"I took five wickets in that match, but India won the match, so they gave the award to Dhoni. He scored only 18-20 runs and dropped catches. How did he get Man of the Match? I should have received the Man of the Match award in that game," Ajmal was quoted as saying by Sportskeeda.
