Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma is currently on vacation with his family as the Indian team will be away from cricket action till July 12. After 2 months of Indian Premier League 2023 action and the recently concluded World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final, the Indian skipper took a much-needed break from the hectic schedule. 

Rohit is on vacation with his wife Ritika Sajdeh and daughter Samaira, however, the location is unknown. Meanwhile, his wife recently shared an Instagram story that garnered a lot of attention from the fans as she revealed that Rohit jumped into the water to save her phone to get drowned.

“My phone fell into the water and this guy jumped in to save it," Ritika wrote.

India suffered an embarrassing loss against Australia in the WTC final after which Rohit was criticised a lot for his captaincy. India made numerous questionable decisions and tweaks to their bowling attack throughout the crucial match, giving the impression that they were underprepared. 

Ravichandran Ashwin was dropped by the Indian team and instead used four pacers and a spinner. This move backfired because the Indian bowlers were unable to keep Australia in check during their first innings, and as a result, they scored 469 runs. India remained to pursue Australia the entire game after giving up runs in the first innings. Rohit talked about the game in the post-match conference.

“I thought we started well with winning the toss, putting them to bat in those conditions. We bowled well in the first session and then we let ourselves down with how we bowled. Got to give credit to the Australian batters. Head came in and played really well along with Steven Smith. That just took us off guard a little bit. We knew it was always hard to come back, but we put up a good show. We fought till the end. We’ve worked hard for all those four years. Playing two finals is honestly a good achievement for us,” he said.
