The Indian cricket team have received good news at the beginning of the new year. This good news has been given by none other than Jasprit Bumrah. Team India's star fast bowler has returned to the Indian team after getting fit. After being declared fit by the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Bumrah was included in the Indian team on Tuesday for the home ODI series against Sri Lanka (IND vs SL) starting on January 10.

Bumrah played the last match for India in September and he could not even play in the T20 World Cup in Australia due to a back injury. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a statement, “The All-India Senior Selection Committee has included fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah in India's ODI squad for the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. This fast bowler has gone through rehabilitation and has been declared fit by the National Cricket Academy.

The first match of the ODI series against Sri Lanka will be played in Guwahati

He will soon join India's ODI team. The first ODI between India and Sri Lanka will be played in Guwahati on January 10, while the second one will be played in Kolkata on January 12 and the third and last ODI will be played in Thiruvananthapuram on January 15.

Bumrah's inclusion in the ODI squad means India have a near full-strength pace attack for the series against Sri Lanka, with Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, and Umran Malik, in addition to seam-bowling allrounder Hardik Pandya, all in the mix.

Indian skipper and opener Rohit Sharma will also return for the ODI series to lead the team after recovering from a thumb injury that he sustained on the Bangladesh tour. Rohit will have a new deputy during the Sri Lanka series as Hardik Pandya has replaced KL Rahul as the new vice-captain of India’s ODI team. India men’s cricket team will play their first bilateral series against Sri Lanka of 2023 starting Tuesday, January 3, three T20Is series followed by as many ODIs.
