South Indian actor Pawan Kalyan comes in support of Hamuna Vihari amidst the row with the Andra Cricket Association. The film star turned politician showed his frustration with the Association via Twitter. In support of Vihari, Kalyan took to Twitter to write a long paragraph appreciating the player and his successful career in Cricket. Vihari, who was a part of the India team, was sacked from the Andhra Pradesh Ranji team's captaincy due to a row with a teammate whose father is a politician.
Kalyan wrote, "And today, Andhra Cricket Association forced Vihari to resign from the captaincy just because a YCP Corporator wanted it. A Local YCP Politician with no cricket background is more valuable than an Indian Cricketer & Andhra Pradesh Ranji Team Captain to our Andhra Cricket Association. What a Shame!"
The actor also mentioned the AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy and urged him to look into the matters happening in Cricket. Moreover, Vihari was asked to leave the captaincy after the game against Bengal where the Andra team chased down a record score of 410 runs. The player felt humiliated, however, continued to play because of his love for the game.

The Association has slammed all the accusations against them and directly blamed Vihari for his behaviour and usage of vulgar language. As per the association, several players had complained about the former captain's way of dealing with their teammates.
The Association in the statement said, "Addressing the reported issue, it has come to our attention that Mr. Vihari personally verbally abused a specific player during the Bengal Ranji game in front of everyone. The affected player filed an official complaint with ACA."
