The 2021 T20I World Cup winner Australia have announced a formidable 15-member squad for their forthcoming three-match T20I series against New Zealand scheduled for later this month. The Trans-Tasman rivalry commences with the first T20I in Wellington on Wednesday, February 21, followed by subsequent matches in Auckland.

Interestingly, while Pat Cummins is included in the squad, Mitchell Marsh has been appointed as the captain. This suggests that Cummins' captaincy across all formats for Australia may be coming to an end. However, there is also the possibility that the renowned all-rounder may not feature in all three matches to manage his workload. This could be the reason why Marsh has been entrusted with the responsibility of leading the team.
