Australia defeated India in the final of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The Aussies won their sixth World Cup and are the most successful team in the competition. After the win, Glenn Maxwell's wife Vini Raman lashed out at the trolls she has been suffering after Australia's win over the Men in Blue side. As the trolls targeted the players and their family members after India lost the ODI World Cup final. 

Fans began sending remarks in the DMs (direct messages) of players and their spouses. Raman turned to Instagram to publish a polite message in which she explained to the critics on why she was rooting for Australia during the World Cup. 

Maxwell played two brilliant knocks in the tournament, the batter has the record of the fastest hundred in the ODI World Cup history against the Netherlands and played a knock of 201 runs against Afghanistan at the Wankhede Stadium while his team was struggling at 91/7. The Aussie all-rounder also shared his wife's story.

Vini posted on Instagram captioning, "Aaaaand cue all the hateful vile DMs. stay classy...can't believe this needs to be said BUT you can be Indian and also support the country of your birth where you have been raised and more importantly the team your husband + father of your child plays in #nobrainer. Take a chill pill and direct that outrage towards more important world issues."

She posted "Melbourne - Singapore - Delhi - Dharamsala - Ahmedabad - Mumbai - Pune - Kolkata -Ahmedabad - Singapore - Melbourne. A trip of a lifetime that Logan won’t remember. @gmaxi_32 still in awe of everything you’ve accomplished this tournament (are you even real?)." 

Indian fans didn't even leave Travis Head's one-year-old daughter, who received rape threats along with her mother Jessica Davies. Head played the innings of his life as the batter played a knock of 137 runs of 120 balls against India in the final leading his side for the sixth victory.
