India all-rounder Hardik Pandya is one of the finest all-rounders of this generation. He was part of the Indian team in the recently concluded ODI World Cup 2023. Hardik played only four matches and he was injured in the game against Bangladesh. The right-arm bowler was bowling and while stopping a ball in the follow through he twisted his ankle and was not able to bowl again and left the field. Since then he has been recovering at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Bengaluru.
According to the reports, Hardik might be returning to the Indian Premier League (IPL) side Mumbai Indians (MI) after a gap of two years. He joined MI in the year 2015 and won the IPL trophies 4 times with the franchise and then in 2022 he left the side and joined Gujarat Titans (GT). He captained the side and helped them win their maiden title in the first year of the franchise. They again qualified for the final of the previous edition of the tournament but eventually lost to Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Now the reports have come up that the player might be traded and Rohit Sharma or Jofra Archer could make way for the all-rounder might be the two who will be on the list to replace him in GT if the trade happens and the rumours come true. The deadline for the IPL transfer window is November 26 and it will be interesting to watch how far will GT will go to keep their captain for the upcoming season.
Are Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya to be traded?
Rohit Sharma has been one of the greatest captains in the IPL history. He has won five trophies in his short captaincy spell. The team India skipper led the Men in Blue for the first final in 12 years. The batter has shown exceptional leadership qualities in the recently concluded mega event.
Hardik has experience of captaincy and his game style has changed after being the skipper for the GT. The star all-rounder has also captained India in the absence of the senior players.
If the trade happens it would be the biggest-ever trade of the IPL.
