Hardik Pandya has been one of the finest all-rounder in white-ball cricket over last few years. But his fitness has been a concern for the national team. Pandya sustained an ankle injury during the match against Bangladesh, which forced him to withdraw halfway through the 2023 Cricket World Cup. Due to the injury, he was unable to participate in the South Africa tour as well. According to some reports, he may not even be able to play for his country and in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024. 

That is a serious headache for Mumbai Indians (MI) as they have announced him the captain for the upcoming season and he faced severe backlashes after being announced as the leader. But in the new year, the fans will be happy as the 30-year-old all-rounder has posted a video of his as he shared his gym session where he could be seen sweating it out.

The video saw Pandya taking part in multiple exercises during an intense gym session and it had a caption that will be great news for Indian cricket team fans, "Progress, everyday". His recovery is crucial as the reports says that he might lead India in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.

Hardik Pandya to captain MI 

Pandya returned to MI only on one condition of captaining the side, that was the reason he was appointed captain replacing Rohit Sharma. He started his IPL career with the five-time champions featuring in 92 matches for MI from 2015-2021, scoring 1,476 runs at an average of 27.33 at a strike rate of over 153, with four half-centuries and best score of 91. He also took 42 wickets for the team. 

In 31 matches for Gujarat Titans from 2022-23, Pandya scored 833 runs at an average of 37.86 and a strike rate of over 133, with six half-centuries and a best score of 87*. He also had 11 wickets for the team. He won the IPL trophy for the side in their maiden season in the toughest T20 league.
