On this day, three years ago, India registered a memorable victory against Australia at The Gabba, Brisbane. Ahead of the game, the four-match series was leveled 1-1 with the previous game ending in a draw. Talking about the game, the home team won the toss and batted first. They amassed 369 runs despite India playing with one of the most inexperienced bowling attacks.

In reply, after being reduced to 186/6, the Asian side managed to reduce the lead of the home side and got 334 runs before getting all-out. With a lead of 35 runs, the home team could only get 294, setting a target of 329 runs with four sessions to play. Despite the last session of Day Four, India decided to go for the win and managed to win the game by three wickets.

The left-arm medium was meant to play in the white-ball series of the same tour which he did but also ended up making his Test debut. After this game, he played a few games for India in the home series against England in white-ball cricket before injuries plagued his career, and is yet to play another game for India.

Before the fourth Test, Agarwal played the first two games as an opener in the series. Due to a shortage of players due to injuries, he got another opportunity in the middle-order. in the first innings, he got a start but failed to capitalize, followed by some quick runs in the second innings. After this, he has played only plenty of games and is currently out of reckoning.

Playing in only his second Test, he was included as one of the four pacers and a spinner laded bowling attack. However, in the first innings, he couldn't bowl any longer due to an injury. Rohit Sharma bowled his remaining and Saini came out to bat twice. After this, he is yet to play for India across all formats of the game
