Former Australia spinner Brad Hogg is not pleased with Cameron Green’s next IPL move. The youngster was traded by Mumbai Indians to Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 17.75 Crores on the 26th of November.

Mumbai Indians conducted the trade in a bid to bring back Hardik Pandya from Gujarat Titans. According to Brad Hogg, RCB has made a poor choice by opting to go after Cameron Green. The former World Cup winner also spelt out his reasons for calling the move poor.

Taking to his Instagram account, Brad Hogg was heard saying “Is he worth it? RCB, I am looking at their line-up. I think this is a poor choice. Nothing against Green's talent. He was good for the Mumbai Indians last year. But if you look at RCB's list, they spend big on their batting line-up. They don't have enough cash there to spend on enough quality bowlers.”

Royal Challengers Bangalore have released Wanindu Hasaranga, Harshal Patel, and Josh Hazlewood. This move surprised many cricket fans as the Bangalore-based outfit now lacks a quality bowler.

Speaking about this Brad Hogg said “You want to win the IPL, you need quality bowlers to defend totals and set the games up. I think this is a poor choice from RCB and Green could have been suitable at some other club."

Before the trade, RCB had INR 40.7 Crores in their bank and now that figure has come down to INR 23 cores. As per speculations, there are indications that RCB might try to buy Mitchell Starc during the IPL 2024 Auctions.

Mitchell Starc has played just two seasons of IPL in 2014 and 2015 and was part of the RCB setup. It is expected that Mitchell Starc will command over INR 10 Crores and if RCB wants to get their former star, they might have to use up over 50% of their resources left.

The former Aussie spinner also praised Mumbai Indians strategy regarding Cameron Green. Brad Hogg said “Mumbai Indians, they threw Cameron Green out there for a little bit of trade bait, trying to free up some cash to get Hardik Pandya into their squad. It worked a treat. RCB couldn't resist. They swooped in there, not wanting Green to go back into the auction thinking they might have had a little bit more to pay for the all-rounder”
