The 2nd Test in Visakhapatnam was a great day for Indian cricket as they went on to win the match and level the series against England in the ongoing series. This was a great comeback from the Indian team who looked down and out in the 1st Test. Rohit Sharma and his men completely dominated the England team with both bat and ball. This will give the Indian team enough confidence going into the next few games of the series as well. The third game will be played in Rajkot where both the teams will have the chance to extend their lead in the series once again.
The performance of Yashasavi Jaiswal and Jasprit Bumrah might have been the main highlight of the game, but there was one innings that also contributed a lot to this amazing Indian win in the series. The man was none other than Shubman Gill who before scoring this magnificent century in the 2nd innings to extend India’s lead was criticised by many experts and fans. This was Gill’s moment to shine and he took the opportunity with both hands and scored 104 runs from 147 deliveries that included 11 fours and 2 sixes.
Shubman Gill's injury during the Test match
We Knew that this was a make-or-break chance for Shubman Gill to score some big runs in Test cricket after successive failures in his last few innings in Test matches, but what the star batter brought up during an interview was something we didn’t. Gill opened up on his injured finger which he suffered in the first innings of the match and mentioned that he took an injection before the innings due to his injury. The fact that Gill was looking in fine touch during his century shows his determination as a player and we wish to see him play like this for the rest of the series as well.
This inning have also proven Gill’s world-class talent gives him the ability to conquer any format he features in. He has made big strides in the white ball format and he will want to be consistent after this great knock. Gill is a young star who seems to be backed by everyone and we all want him to play his best game every time he steps into the ground. We have finally seen him live up to his potential and give a great reply to the critics even after this finger injury that might have been tough for him to play through.
Here's how the fans have reacted-
Wishing him a speedy recovery 🙏🙏🙏

Sad to see Gill's performance got sidelined in this Test match after Yashasvi's and Bumrah's feat.#INDvENG pic.twitter.com/zZDyU5Qsjy

Gill scored a 100 in the 3rd inning with injections. Then there is Rohit who couldn't cross even 30 in the match that too without injection 💔
