South Africa suffered a big blow ahead of the T20I series against India. Lungi Ngidi has been ruled out of the limited-overs series against India. The South African pacer is suffering from an ankle sprain, which will keep him out of action for the next few days. The South African board said that a further assessment of Ngidi's situation would be done later this month by the medical team.

Ngidi will now head to his rehabilitation process. The Proteas pacer will undergo recovery with his provincial team, Momentum Multiply Titans, where he is set to be under the supervision of the medical team of South Africa. The injury of Ngidi has caused concerns in the South African camp, who has suffered many injury blows in the recent past. the biggest of them happened during the series against Australia.

The Proteas lost Anrich Nortje from ODIs against Australia due to injury. The express pacer was ruled out of the entire ODI World Cup 2023, which hampered their chances in the big tournament. Without Nortje, the South African attack lacks the pace one would have otherwise seen, although they have a young sensation in their lineup as his replacement.

Beuran Hendricks named replacement of Lungi Ngidi

Gerald Coetzee is a very good bowler. but the impact of Nortje is something else. Likewise, Ngidi's impact is different in the South African attack. His seam bowling is always good to watch. South Africa would be up against India in the practice match. Ngidi is set to miss out on playing those games as well. Ngisi was set to spearhead the South African attack along with Marco Jansen.

In the absence of Ngidi, the home side has got Beuran Hendricks as the replacement. The left-arm pacer has good numbers in the format as a bowler. The 33-year-old can be handy with his slower ones and change of pace. Though Ngidi was of a different skill set, Beuran can be handy with his left-arm angle. It is to be seen if Ngidi will play the Test series against India.
