It was a huge day for Indian cricket fans after KL Rahul announced that Rajat Patidar is set to make his ODI debut for India. The 30-year-old Madhya Pradesh batter becomes the 255th player to play in the ODI format for the Indian team.

It is quite interesting to note that the Indian Cricket Team has handed out debut caps in each of the two previous games. Sai Sudarshan made his ODI debut during the first game in Johannesburg on Sunday and scored a match-winning half-century.

Rinku Singh then got his debut cap when he played the second ODI Gqeberha on Tuesday. While Rinku Singh didn’t light up his first game with the bat, he made it a memorable debut nonetheless. The 26-year-old got the wicket of Rassie Van Der Dussen which is first in international cricket.

Rajat Patidar has played a total of 58 List A games for Madhya Pradesh and scored 1963 runs. The 30-year-old has hit 3 centuries with a best of 158 and possesses an average of 36.5 with a strike just under 100. Once the news was confirmed Indian Cricket Fans took to Twitter and reacted with glee.
