Pakistan star all-rounder Shadab Khan suffered an injury while fielding during a National T20 Cup match between Rawalpindi and Sialkot on Sunday. He had a poor run in the ODI World Cup 2023 as he failed to perform under pressure and the leg-spinner was also dropped from the side as well. The Men in Green failed to qualify for the knockouts as well for the second consecutive time in the mega event's history. 

After the injury, the all-rounder was taken off the field in a bizarre manner. In a viral video, Shadab's teammate can be seen carrying him on his back, which has led to fans being shocked and they started questioning the authorities over the lack of basic facilities in the stadium. The 25-year-old spinner was bowling brilliantly in the match conceding seven runs in his two overs and he picked up the injury while he stepped onto the ball while fielding. 

Pakistan's team has already reached Australia for their three-match Test series. Babar Azam has resigned from the captaincy from all formats of the game. Shan Masood has been announced as the Test captain this will be his first test as a captain in Australia. Team when they reached there they faced humiliation as they received no welcome from them and they had to put their luggage in a truck by themselves.

Reports suggest it is nothing serious: Islamabad United

Shadab's Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise provided an update on the player's injury. Islamabad United stated, "@76Shadab Khan was bowling brilliantly in the National T20 Cup, conceding only 7 in 2 overs before he was taken off the field. He twisted his ankle while fielding however initial reports suggest it is nothing serious."

After their poor show at the mega event, a lot of changes have happened in the management. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have announced new selectors, director, and captains as well for the betterment of the country's cricket. Shaheen Shah Afridi has been named as the T20I captain and they are yet to decide on the ODI captain as it is not scheduled in the current year so PCB has time to decide.
