Pakistan cricketer Imam-ul-Haq's wedding festival is on as a qawwali night took place in Lahore on Thursday, November 23. The opening batter is set to tie the knot with Anmol Mehmood, his fiancée from Norway. Many Pakistani cricketers were in attendance and pictures and videos of the wedding ceremony went viral on social media.

In a video circulating on X (formerly known as Twitter), former Pakistan captains Babar Azam and Sarfaraz Ahmed can be seen in a complete party mood. Babar was relatively quiet, but Sarfaraz was engrossed in the song throughout. ‘Qawwali’ is the celebration of Sufi songs and it is performed at festivals before weddings.

Alongside Babar and Sarfaraz, other Pakistani cricketers Usman Qadir, Kamran Akmal and current Chief Selector Wahab Riaz were also present on the occasion. Meanwhile, Imam also shared some beautiful pictures with her partner on his official Instagram account. Notably, Anmol Mehmood recently gained attention following a mehndi event in Scandinavia.

Imam-ul-Haq struggled to find runs in 2023 ODI World Cup

The left-handed batter had shown good form in the lead-up to the World Cup 2023 but struggled to find runs in the tournament. He managed to score just 162 runs in six matches and a single fifty-plus score. The 27-year-old was later replaced by Fakhar Zaman, who played some sensational innings. However, Pakistan failed to make it to the semi-finals as they finished fifth on the points table.

The Men in Green started their campaign with two straight wins but then suffered back-to-back defeats. They even faced defeat against arch-rivals India and Afghanistan. After their poor campaign and early exit, Babar stepped down as Pakistan's captain in all formats.
