The ongoing first Test between Australia and Pakistan at Perth has been in the favor of the visiting side. After winning the toss, the Aussies decided to bat first on a wicket that is perceived to pick up more pace later on. Meanwhile, batting first, the World Test Championship 2023-25 defending champions had a great start. In the first session, they amassed 117/0.

Even though the Asian side has managed to make some sort of comeback, the aftermath of the first session has been dealt by the Pakistan team. Meanwhile, during the last session of the first day, former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed missed a stumping of David Warner batting on 141. Ahead of the game, former Australia pacer Mitchell Johnson had criticized Warner getting the farewell on his terms.

The latter managed to score 164. Meanwhile, Ahmed, who took a great catch to send back Usman Khawaja earlier in the game, didn't seem to be ready for the turn generated by Salman Ali Agha.

Talking about the match, the Test Championship holders had a great day with the bat. Thanks to David Warner's 164, they have managed to get 346/5 at the end of Day One. Apart from Warner, no other batter got their fifties. This boils down to a good comeback by Pakistan bowlers as it seemed that the Kangaroos might get 400-plus on the first day itself. ODI World Cup 2023 winners, Mitchell Marsh and Alex Carey are batting the crease. They would look to get the most runs as it seems that the team has decided to bat only once in the match.
