India sealed the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka 2-0 by winning the second match at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Thursday. Leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who replaced Yuzvendra Chahal in the 2nd ODI, was declared the Man of the Match as he ended the contest with impressive figures of 3 for 51.

The left-arm chinaman bowler spun a web and bamboozled all the batters of the island nation. After his spiffing performance with the ball, the spin wizard decoded his game plan and strategy with fellow spinner Chahal. Speaking at Chahal TV, Kuldeep said that Chahal's “inputs helped” him a lot.

“I’ve come straight to the white ball from the red ball, your inputs have helped me a lot,” said Kuldeep Yadav.

Flattered by his praise from Kuldeep, Chahal came up with a hilarious response and said that after already being the batting coach of Suryakumar Yadav, he has now become the bowling coach of Kuldeep as well.

"Surya ke to hum batting coach hain, ab Kuldeep Yadav ke bhi bowling coach ban gaye. Yeh note kar lijiye(I am already Surya's batting coach; now I am Kuldeep Yadav's bowling coach too. Note this.)"

When Chahal asked him about his favorite dismissal amongst the 3 wickets he scalped, Yadav said,

“Shanaka’s wicket was really important as he was performing really well in the series…everybody was planning on his dismissal during the team meeting, it was definitely an important wicket. I have worked a lot on my batting…whenever I’m free I practice in the nets,” he added.

200 wickets is a big thing in international cricket: Kuldeep Yadav

Till the end of the match, Kuldeep Yadav was unaware that he had completed 200 wickets in international cricket. Later, he got that information from Chahal.

“Well, I did not know that, thank you so much. 200 wickets is a big thing in international cricket. How to explain it, man? Feeling very proud about the fact that 200 wickets have been completed. Now that it has come all of a sudden, I do not know what to say.”

Chahal then questioned Kuldeep about hitting a four off the cut and the free hit. On this, Kuldeep said,

“As soon as I bowled the slower, it was running in my mind that if three fielders were up, then if I cut, it will go away, but the ball went in my hand. Many people have spoken about this in the dressing room. I will work a lot on this. Worked a lot on batting. When I am free, I do a lot of batting in the nets as well. I think I can contribute to the team if the batting comes early. This was my plan.”
