Cristiano Ronaldo hit the headlines after giving a revealing interview about his club Manchester United and said that he felt betrayed in the club as a few players and the manager Erik ten Hag wanted him out of the club.

Ronaldo, who said that he had no respect for the Dutchman in the interview with Piers Morgan, claimed that he lacked respect in the club and added that there was no evolution ever since Sir Alex left the Red Devils.

“I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me. If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never gonna have respect for you,” Ronaldo said in the interview when asked about ten Hag.

“Yes , not only the coach but the other two or three guys there around the club. Yes . I felt betrayed. I felt that some people don't want me here, not only this year but last year too,” said the legendary player further.

"The progress was zero. Since Sir Alex left, I saw no evolution in the club. Nothing had changed. I think the fans should know the truth. I want the best for the club. This is why I come to Manchester United," he added.

“The club will consider its response after the full facts have been established. Our focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season and continuing the momentum, belief and togetherness being built among the players, manager, staff, and fans,” the statement read.

With the FIFA World Cup set to get underway soon, it remains to see if it would affect the player’s campaign with Portugal in the multinational tournament. As things stand, it remains to see if the renowned player would give his best for the country and fans, on the other hand, would hope that Ronaldo would find himself in a club that suits him in the upcoming transfer window.
