After leaving all forms of Indian cricket, Ambati Rayudu is preparing for his second inning. While Rayudu will continue to play in the Major League Cricket in the United States, it is anticipated that the former India player will pursue politics as he reportedly intends to run for Lok Sabha.

Recently, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the president of the YSRCP and the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, met with Rayudu twice. The Times of India reported that Jagan wants Rayudu to run in the next polls but hasn't decided if he will run in the assembly or Lok Sabha elections.

According to the report's further sources, senior party officials believe Rayudu should run for office in the Ponnur or Guntur West constituencies for assembly elections and Machilipatnam for the Lok Sabha. The 37-year-old Rayudu praised Jagan and stated that the chief minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is a huge inspiration for those entering politics. Instead of focusing on one sector, he is leading progress across the board.

Ambati Rayudu will be in action for Texas Super Kings in MLC

Rayudu declared his retirement from all forms of Indian cricket after Chennai Super Kings won the IPL 2023. However, Rayudu will continue to play T20 cricket overseas as he is scheduled to compete in the MLC for the Texas Super Kings, a CSK-owned side. Rayudu recently said in an interview that certain people were hindering his career.

After being passed over for the 2019 ODI World Cup, Rayudu responded to the then Chief of Selectors MSK Prasad's explanation that Vijay Shankar was preferred because they wanted a player with "three-dimensional" aspects by tweeting, "Just ordered a new set of 3D glasses to watch the world cup."

“A team selection is not done by an individual. Even if he deliberately wanted to or not, there are many other factors. There were certain people in team management. There was one Hyderabadi person. There were some instances when I was young when we did not get along. Small things which I did not like about them and some they did not like about me. And they have been built over a period of time. These were the same people I have dealt with for my entire career in a cycle,” Rayudu said in the interview with TV9 Telugu.
