Dinesh Karthik held one of his AskDK sessions on Twitter as the ex-cricketer turned commentator took questions from his fans on Monday night. While some were serious questions ahead of the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT), some were hilarious requests, one of which made it to the headlines.

The 37-year-old, who will be commentating in the upcoming 4-test BGT series, was answering questions related to his life, cricket and the forthcoming BGT series when a fan reminded the wicketkeeper-batter of his poor knock against New Zealand in the 2019 50-over World Cup semi-final. Karthik could only manage 6 runs in the game off the 25 deliveries he faced as New Zealand bowled India out within 50 overs to clinch the match by 18 runs.

Sharing the scorecard from that game, cropped perfectly to fit Karthik’s innings, a fan asked, “any word on your goated innings in the semi-final?” He responded by quoting the tweet, “Delete this right now”, with a facepalming emoji at the end.

Here's the tweet:

Dinesh Karthik picked Kuldeep Yadav as a good option in the upcoming Tests vs Australia

Answering another fan’s query, the 37-year-old wicketkeeper-batter backed Kuldeep Yadav to be a good bowling option for the Indians against Australia in the upcoming BGT Test series. “Definitely a good option in the future, but for the moment, I’m excited for @imkuldeep18 . He is bowling brilliantly,” he wrote on Twitter.

When asked which cricketer from the past he would like to share the dressing room with, Karthik named legendary Windies batter Vivian Richards as his top choice. Meanwhile, the commentator also notified his fans that he would soon be sharing his playing XI for the upcoming BGT series on his Instagram handle before the first Test on Friday, to be held in the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur.
