Indian batter Ajinkya Rahane played a brilliant inning of 89 runs during India's first innings in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final against Australia at the Oval. With the help of his brilliant knock, the Indian team was able to score 296 runs. Interestingly, Rahane's finger was also hurt while he was batting, but even after this, feeling the pain, the Indian batter decided to stay at the crease and worked to get the team out of the difficult situation.

Meanwhile, Rahane’s wife Radhika Dhopavkar made a shocking revelation about Rahane’s determining knock. She took to her Instagram account and posted an appreciation post for her husband. Radhika revealed that Rahane continued to bat despite having a swollen finger.

“Despite your swollen finger, you refused a scan to protect your mindset and focused on batting, displaying incredible selflessness and determination. With unwavering resilience and commitment, you took your place at the crease, inspiring us all. I'm forever proud of your unwavering team spirit, my resilient partner. Love you endlessly!”- Radhika posted on Instagram.

Rahane also talked about his great knock after the end of the 3rd day and said that he was satisfied with the way he batted. However, they were looking to get a total of around 320 or 330 but still managed to get 296 runs. He also said the Australian team is slightly ahead in the contest with a brilliant lead.

“Don’t think it will affect (my) batting (in India’s second innings). Happy with the way I batted. Had a good today. We were looking to get 320-330 but overall we had a good day. Bowling wise we bowled well. Everyone chipped in.” Referring to Cameron Green’s incredible catch to dismiss him, Rahane said, “That was a really good catch. We all know he’s a really good fielder. Has a big reach,” Rahane said after Day 3.

“Australia are slightly ahead in the game. For us, it’s important to be in the moment, play session by session. The first hour will be crucial tomorrow. We know funny things can happen. Ravindra Jadeja bowled really well, footmarks helped him against the left-hander. Still feel wicket will help seam bowlers,” he added.
