India and Sri Lanka clashed against each other in the third and final ODI match of the series in Thiruvananthapuram. India made a few changes as Hardik Pandya and Umran Malik have been rested, with shortest format sensation Suryakumar Yadav and Washington Sundar making it into the team. Sri Lanka have also made two changes in their squad for a consolation win. Ashen Bandara and Jeffery Vandersay come in for Dhananjaya de Silva and Dunith Wellalage.

Former India skipper Virat Kohli smashed yet another century of his international career during the ongoing third ODI match against Sri Lanka. He got to his 100 with a drive to long-on, 2nd this series and 3rd in his last 4 ODIs, removed the helmet, raised his arms, broke into a big smile, said a prayer to the heavens, and then hugged Shreyas Iyer.

Another fluent knock from Kohli as he reached the three-digit mark to complete his 46th ODI hundred and his 74th overall. This has extended the 34-year-old's lead in the list of players with the most tons in international cricket. Kohli is second only to the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who has scored a whopping 100 international centuries.

Virat Kohli's record-breaking innings against Sri Lanka

This is Kohli's third ODI century in four matches, the last two coming against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, respectively. Earlier, Kohli registered a three-digit score in the first ODI against Sri Lanka on Tuesday. Prior to that, Kohli had scored a century in the third ODI against Bangladesh in December. Kohli's latest century has come in the third ODI against Sri Lanka on Sunday.

The 34-year-old also broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most ODI centuries at home with his 21st ton in 100 innings. It was his 10th ton against Sri Lanka. He breached Tendulkar (9 centuries vs Australia) and his own record (9 centuries vs West Indies) for the most ODI tons against a single opposition. Kohli also stormed past Mahela Jayawardena (12,650) to become the fifth-highest run-scorer in ODI cricket.
